♥ Summer Drugstore Haul ♥

heyy girls,

A couple of days ago I went to the drugstore and bought some new stuff. I thought I'll show you what I got...If you want me to do a review on a product in particular don't be scared to leave a comment below asking for it ;)...

The first thing that I got is this Marcelle Jelly Cheek Flush Blush in the color Flushed Coral. I usually don't buy Marcelle products because I think they are very pricey as drugstore products. This stain/cream blush was originally 17$CA but I got it on sale for 8$CA. I was very proud of myself since I've almost bought it full price the other day. The texture of this blush is very interesting and I would love to do a review on it if you're interested. Of course the color is gorgeous and very appropriate for the summer time ;)

Next thing that I got is this Covergirl Outlast 3-in-1 Stay Fabulous Foundation and I got it in the lightest shade which is 905 Ivory. I've heard so much great thing about this foundation so I've decided to try it out. I've honestly already tried it 2 times and I would say that this is a medium coverage foundation but it is buildable. It also feels very light on the skin and it is perfect for summer if you wear foundation daily. It costs 13$CA at the drugstore which I think is kind of expensive for Covergirl but it is a great alternative to the Revlon Colorstay that costs 17$CA.

Recently, I was on the hunt for a new mascara since I am almost out of my Maybelline One by One Volum' Express. I was looking for a waterproof formula also. As I was walking by the Revlon products I saw that the Revlon Photoready 3D Volume mascara was in sale. I can't remember how much it was originally (around 10-12$CA I guess) but I got it for 8$CA. The wand reminded me of the Benefit They're Real! Mascara that I love. We'll see if this mascara can be a dupe for the Benefit one.

My hair care routine (simple & affordable)

heyy girls,

today I am going to present you the products that I use everyday on my hair. I just wanted to tell you first that I have fine hair but I kind of have a lot of it. My hair is also wavy. The last  few information that you need to know before I show you the products is that I usually wash my hair every single day (I know it's not good for your hair, but oh well!) and I have long hair.

I highly recommend those next products if you have long hair or want to grow your hair and keep it healthy...

The first hair product that I use in the shower is my shampoo. I use the Pantene Pro V Ice Shine Silicone Free. It says that it gives 24 hours of shine. I have to say that it does give more shine to your hair. I love this shampoo because it does its job very well but it isn't arch on the hair or on the scalp. I've seen improvement on how shiny my hair looks after a week of daily use.

I think it is around 5-6$CA at the drugstore. If you are looking for a clarifying shampoo I recommend the Garnier Fructis Clean shampoo which is 3-4$ at the drugstore.

The two next products are the conditioner that I use everyday. I mix them together to create the effect that I want. So I mix the Aveeno Positively Nourishing Moisturize Conditioner with the Pantene Pro V Beautiful Lenghts Conditioner. I like the Aveeno Moisturize Conditioner because it does moiturize your hair. It is a thick conditioner but I don't feel like it is too heavy. Also, Aveeno is a brand that puts natural ingredients in their products.

I think it is around 6-7$CA at the drugstore and I highly recommend it as a daily conditioner.

♥ June Topbox 2013 ♥

heyy girls,

A couple of days ago I received my June Topbox which I was very excited about! In this post, I am going to show you what I got in this monthly subscription service. Also, I cancelled my Topbox subscription last week because I wanted to go back to Ipsy. If you don't know what Ipsy is, well it is a monthly subscription service where you pay 10$ a month to receive sample of makeup (sometimes even full sizes!). So here is what I got in my Topbox this month...

The first thing that I got this month is this Belvada Cosmetics Mini Eyelash Curler. I like how compact it is and I think it would be perfect for when you're travelling. The price is also very reasonable, 5,99$. You can buy this eyelash curler at belvada.com.

The next thing that I got this month is this Pari Beauty Colour Cubes. I personnally don't like pigments that much because I think they can be very messy, but maybe I'll try to press them later. The full size is 30$ (5 stack, 7g) or 35$ (8 stack, 11g). You can buy this product at Pari Beauty locations or at Sears.

Here are some swatches.
The next thing that I got is this Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Fairy Lashes Mascara. I don't really like the brush but we'll see how it goes... The full size is 24$ and it is available at jellypongpong.com.

Review and comparison: Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream & L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB cream

heyy girls,

Today I'm here with a review AND a comparison of two BB cream from the drugstore. I've haven't tried any Asian BB cream so I can't compared those BB cream that I am going to show you with the Asian BB creams. The two BB creams that I am going to review today is the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB in light and the L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB in Fair.

The first BB cream that I am going to show you is the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm. I got it in the lightest shade which is Light. I think there are four or five shades that you can choose from and you can also buy this product at the drugstore.

I like the consistency of this product. It is definitely on the more liquidy side which is great for the summer. It gives light to medium coverage and it is buildable. It also doesn't feel cakey on the skin. I am not a fan of the shade selection though. Now that I got a little bit of a tan it does blend very well with my skin but in the winter the lighter shade is too dark and looks too orange on my ghostly pale skin tone ;)

This picture shows what it looks like before blending everything out.

Here is what it looks like when it is blend out ;)
The other thing that I don't like about this product is the squeezy tube because this tube gets very messy. Sometimes, the product pours out of the tube without you wanting it. You are wasting a lot of product when it happens and the cap gets all dirty.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine's commercial inspired look

heyy girls,

so this post was requested and I thought it was a great idea to recreate the look of the model on the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine commercial...so here it is... ;) **since I don't have an amazing and expensive camera, the look seems less intense and less "shimmery" than what it really is**

As you can see on the pictures, this look is very natural and perfect when you want to wear a pop of color on the lips or on the cheeks since it isn't heavy. Here is the link to the commercial... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHqS4dVCJJ0

 1) Apply an eye primer

2) Apply the middle color on the Covergirl Shimmering Sand trio all over the lid.

3) Apply the color Naked 2 in the Naked Basics palette in the crease.

The Colors of the Rainbow TAG

heyy girls,

today I'm here with a special TAG that Ingrid on Youtube (here) created a couple of weeks ago...it is called the Colors of the Rainbow TAG. Basically you have to choose beauty and fashion related items that coordinated with the colors of the rainbow. The product doesn't have to be that color, it can only be the packaging. Also they added the color pink and multicolored which I think was a good idea since I have a lot of pink stuff ;)

The first color on the rainbow is red so I chose this Maybelline One by One Volum' Express mascara. I love this mascara because it gives me a little bit more volume than the Covergirl LashPerfection mascara. If you build it up it can dramatic but with only one layer it looks kind of natural...

The next color on the rainbow is orange. I decided to show you this Pineapple Mango candle from Bath&Body Works since I've heard no one talked about this candle! But it smells SO good!! ;) **The color looks more orange in real life :)

Yellow is the next color on the rainbow. For this color I chose this Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. I love the texture of this product and the non-greasy feeling on my skin when I apply it. The only thing the I don't like is that during winter it isn't moisturizing enough for me since I kind of have dry skin during that time of year, but it is perfect for summer!

The next color on the rainbow in green and I chose to show you this Elizabeth Arden eye and lips makeup remover. You probably can't tell but in real life this has a green tint to it.

The next color on the rainbow is blue. My favorite blue item is this nailpolish by Essie which is called Bikini so Teeny. It is just THE perfect light blue nailpolish for summer! I love it so much ;)

♥ Starter kit - Makeup brushes ♥

heyy girls,

first of all I want to apologise for the size of my pictures in this post. I has some problems with them and I can't put them larger because they get blurry... Anyway, today I'm here to show you my essential brushes that I recommend to everyone who wants to begin with makeup...I've tried to pick inexpensive brushes but don't mind the brand if I don't point it out to you saying that I like their brushes ;) here is what they look like...

1) Foundation brush
If you wear foundation everyday, foundation brushes are a most! For beginners, I recommend the regular foundation brush like this one which is a flat type of brush...

2) Powder brush
If you have oily skin or you want to set your foundation with some powder or even just apply powder foundation I highly recommend you to get a powder brush. I like the Ecotools Powder brush that you can find online or at the drugstore for not much.
